Our Experience
Jim and Jenny Carlson moved to Telluride in 2005. Jim, having grown up in nearby Montrose, knew Telluride was where he wanted to live, work and raise his family. Jenny, originally from Sweden, had never heard of Telluride but immediately fell in love with the beauty and feel of the town.
Jim has a background in construction and started Carlson Customs in 2006, managing an HOA and vacation home in Telluride. The business quickly gained traction through excellent customer referrals, thorough and quality work and follow through and attention to detail. Our homeowners have trusted and referred us to their friends ever since and our most loyal clients are still with us today and have become close friends of ours.
Josh Orintas joined the company in 2016 and is now part-owner. Josh is an integral part of our company and our homeowners' main contact for inspections and property management.
Carlson Customs added the Basecamp Management name in 2022 as our main company name.
Jenny Carlson joined our company fulltime in August 2023 after 18 years working in the vacation rental industry in Telluride, most recently as Sr Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a larger, local lodging company. She brings extensive knowledge and experience of the Telluride rental market, market trends, pricing and marketing venues and is now launching our new vacation rental services through Basecamp Management.

We are experts in Telluride vacation rentals. With over 18 years of experience working in the Telluride vacation rental market, we now take our expertise to launch our own vacation rental service in Telluride.
With our new vacation rental services, our focus is to keep a small, curated rental inventory to ensure we are offering the very best in properties for your vacation rental needs, as well as well as making sure wear and tear and maintenance issues are kept at a minimum.
